FLY HIGH WITH WHITE HOT JET

White Hot Jet is not your ordinary rock band which you come to know and love and follow.  They are a band made up of all female players and are the creation of manager James Kasper.  In 2001, he founded the Vancouver Island Music Awards, and from there began working as a music publicist, artist manager, and artist development specialist.
“WHITE HOT JET is a Canadian female rock collective. The name is an umbrella under which we showcase the top female rock vocalists in Canada. Like a professional sports team, the roster may change from year to year, but it will always feature the best female rock vocalists in Canada,” said Kasper.

“The name is derived from a few sources - it originally came from the hybrid of the two phrases White Hot and Jet Black, a reference to the black and white image of many rock bands in the 70s. It is also a nod to Joan Jett and The Runaways and the influence that band has had on the songwriting, sound, and image of WHITE HOT JET. And lastly, the image of a white hot jet itself represents speed, reflected I the lyrics of the debut single "Never Coming Down."
Kasper goes beyond being a rock band, but an example. “The vision for the band is to be the hottest female-fronted rock band around, but also for the band to set a good example for the younger audience and be good role models for girls and young women.”

“I was looking to create something that is currently not being done much, and something that is exciting and fun. The Runaways in the 70s, The Go go’s in the 80s, and Veruca Salt in the 90s are the only similar acts I can think of, ad this being a collective makes it even more unique.  Since it is a collective, different members step up for the recording or performance that best suits them. We just look for talented female vocalists who have a great attitude and are positive and enthusiastic.”

I have all sorts of platforms for my music. This is just one of them. The songs that are the most pop-rock in style have a shot at becoming WHITE HOT JET songs, but we also encourage band members to submit songs to the mix as well.
Expect more than just a great show, says Kasper, “Great songs, great vocals, a lively, dynamic live performance, and good people.”
