Styria is about to rock you with a potent combination of hard rock, pop and punk that utilize an ancient scale of recording that adds to the vibe they fuse together and leaves you mesmerized for more.  Yes, the female fronted band have plenty of hard hitting and energetic music to fill your senses with a sound that is fresh and intense.  The band formed in 2015 in Leeds, England and features Girlschool guitaristJackie Chambers and Keira Kenworthy of Straitshooter.  Julia Calvo is the lead vocalist and Pablo Calvo is the drummer.  They released their debut LP Rant-O-Bot in May earlier this year.  Since then the band have been playing live shows and festivals and gearing up for a tour in 2018.

 

 

“Rant-O-Bot is an album full of energetic powerful random rants and non conformism, designed to make the sheeple wake up to a world that is not all so nice, said Calvo. Rant-O-Bot is our mascot, a cyborg that is mad at he state of the world. It is a representation of our rage against the machine.”  “I love a good rant, said Chambers, it's almost therapeutic, so expect a lot of complaining about the state of this beautiful planet. I think we can all agree that this is not a very happy planet right now, the corporations and governments letting us down. We need a revolution to give the power back to the people before it's too late.”

 

 

Syteria blend together a special formula of music and backgrounds that charge their sound with electricity that makes them unique.  Kenworthy said, “We have very different musical influences; Jackie has a more punk background, I like metal but I'm also into southern rock and funk and soul, Julia is a full fledged goth and metalhead and Pablo loves classic rock and prog music” Calvo adds, “We all have different ages, sex, nationality and background.”   “We are unique in that although we are rock, we have a punk element that gives that driving energy to our music whilst having 4 piece harmonies giving us a very melodic sound”, said Chambers.  “And we are here to take over the world, to make music great again!” says Kneworthy.

 

I am All Woman” was the new video release for the LP.  “It's about a promiscuous people who thinks they’re gods gift to mankind, they hurt people for her own gratification and no care for the consequences at all. They don't believe in love and so they don't get hurt, or so they say,” said Chambers.
