FEATHER CROW

ROCKING IN A HARD PLACE...

Feather Crow are an all-female symphonic metal band from Mexico City when two of the members met in school and were looking for an outlet for their energy and ideas.  A band was the answer for unleashing their inner angst.  It became a matter of finding the rest of the band and by 2012 their lineup was complete.

Joining Enesy on vocals/guitar and Ave Ikez on drums are Lilith on keyboards and Angela on bass.  Together they power the music and solid sound of Feather Crow.  They will release their debut in February along with the song “Palabras” for the official video.

Feather Crow are out to help open doors for other female musicians and bands by going against the conventional grain of women in Mexico—to become a house wife and raise a family.    “We want to give hope to many girls, in this world that women are scorned and denigrated for many”, said Enesy.  ”They think that we can’t play or compose, or know about audio settings, it’s very difficult had a female band, and make them to give us respect for our work.”

The band found inspiration from their obstacles and are out to prove to everyone that they can succeed with their natural talent and creativity through their music.  ” Well first because we are girls and we want to make something different, we noticed that are many man bands, and we want to prove that we can play, write and make this something professional, we hate the idea that girls only serve to family to have children, marriage, etc, not develop our talents and dreams.”

In addition to the social obstacles, the members of the band also have to overcome objections from family members as well.  “” Like girls we sometimes had difficult character, and in our country the machismo its really big, inclusive some of our parents tell us to get married and have family including our friends, they think we are lost or in bad way.”
