Hold on for a fast ride with the newest wave of music to hit the United States.   Thrills, chills, and adrenaline run rampant and abandoned with true passion and desire like no others.  Yes, this is revolution now, baby, and you have the opportunity to join in on this trip and taste the energy that is vibrating from the Barb Wire Dolls--a band that escaped from its humble roots of Greece direct to Los Angeles capturing the attention of the rock and punk world as headlines and legendary luminaries have come out for the band that is leading the way for the next invasion on the music history.  They are being compared with the likes of The Beatles, Sex Pistols, Nirvana, and Guns and Roses as well as other game changing artists.

The Dolls are grabbing headlines around the world and getting the attention of old school punks.  The energy of late 70s and early 80’s music is powerful and a real buzz saw of raw power.

Barb Wire Dolls 'Slit' is the best punk rock record since Nirvana's "Bleach" - Music + Riots magazine

"Barb Wire Dolls are the most explosive and exciting punk band I have seen in decades! A powerfully great fuckin' band, and also just great fuckin' people. I can tell you with certainty that what you've heard about this band is true." - Mickey Leigh/brother of the late Joey Ramone and ex-tour manager for the Ramones

"Barb Wire Dolls are the most important punk invasion to the U.S. since the Sex Pistols" - PMP/NYC

They just may ignite another punk revolution." - Chicago Examiner

The hottest punk band since the Ramones!" - Christopher Stets/Spin magazine photographer.

They received the "Best Live Punk Act" award in 2012 (Indy PRN), and have become the critics and fans new choice as leaders of today's new generation of punk bands.  The band came to the United States after Rodney Binginhimer began playing their music continuously on Los Angeles' KROQ, and invited them to visit Los Angeles.  The Barb Wire Dolls sold everything and made the jump half way around the world and set the LA music scene on fire with their music and live performances.  They quickly made waves in L.A.'s music scene by selling out the Roxy Theatre, packing monthly residencies at the Viper Room and brought out the likes of many of the group’s predecessors in the punk scene including members of the Sex Pistols, Black Flag, L7, Flogging Molly, D Generation, and Frances Bean Cobain.   The band is fronted by the wild blond bombshell Isis Queen along with guitarist Pyn and drummer Krash. In November of 2012 Barb Wire Dolls released their debut album Slit recorded by Steve Albini (Nirvana, Stooges, Pixies) with three record release shows in New York City.

Barb Wire Dolls since forming in 2010 have completed two coast to coast tours of America sharing the bill with TSOL, Cro Mags, Sublime lbc, Angry Samoans, Mushroomhead, Static X, and Status Quo, headlined major festivals on both sides of the Atlantic, played direct support to Jello Biafra (Dead Kennedy's) and Bouncing Souls, worked with A&R mogul Tom Zutaut (Guns N' Roses, Metallica, Motley Crue), headlined two SXSW showcases, garnered a Top Ten radio hit in South America, "Punk Rock Revolution".

BARB WIRE DOLLS PUT OUT...

The lead vocalist and heart throb Isis is taking the band to a whole another level and creating the energy and passion delivered like no other band these days.  They are sex, drugs and rock and roll X 10.  Her band mates step up and deliver the goods with excellent musicianship that is super charged and explosive creating an even balance in the lineup.

“Sex is raw. Who wants sex with a soft cushy condom? Wouldn't it feel better hard and raw?  It's all about the feelings you get. Sex is a good feeling and every human being, whether a nun or a priest or a monk or a rabbi has felt the sexual urge that feels good. Some people do something about it, others don't.  We choose to feel the raw sex and energy and enjoy it.” The energy that circles the room vibrates throughout my body and I can't hold it back. It's sex on stage.

"You have the power and the right to live your life to its fullest and no one is stopping you but you, yourself, said Isis.  If you don't step on others toes, then no one will step on yours - and then you are free to go forth and live it up.  When oppressed, stand up tall and speak your mind. Your words are more powerful than destruction,” discussing the message of the band.

The supporters of the band, Isis says are made up of the ‘Street Generation’.  It is this new wave of support that is leading the new revolution.

“All action starts from the street. We come from the gutters and we aim for a better and more fulfilling life. When we meet on the street, or at a punk show, words come out of mouths that inspire change. Street Generation became the name of our supporters. They are called "soldiers" in the "Street Generation Army". These punks don't take sh*t from anyone but they also don't hurt anyone. It is a no-violence approach to change. Our slogan has been "Riot, Not War" for many reasons. We can unite and grow stronger and attain freedom with more powerful minds that have the ability and motivation to act. “

“Every human being is a rebel. Most become complacent and become slaves to others. That is when the anger builds up and violence is created. We feel if one can tap into the realm of their inner being, the rebellion will naturally guide you and alert you where oppression is taking place. We have all rebelled against something, but once you realize you are fighting yourself, you turn within and release the anger through creative outlets and through sharing the music energy and dance that we all have within us like a well of our spirit that wishes to over flow out into this crazy world of greed and desire and power. Just be yourself by being true to yourself and look within. All the answers are there just waiting for you.

Punks back in the day were fighting against the same authorities as we have today, but they used violence and destruction and they imploded unto themselves. We do the same, but without violence. There is a love of sorts, a familiarity amongst punks - and that has the potential to unite us and combine power and force to initiate change, then comes freedom.

As for the music scene/industry as we now know it Isis is working on making change happens, not just small talk.

“Destroy it all. Burn it down. Only a handful of bands will remain.  This goes to every country and every city. There are only a handful of bands in each city worth saving. The rest have forgotten what punk is and what rock and roll means, Or doesn't mean its all personal opinion. The zombies like dub step. The rich white boys in the suburbs like black gangsta rap. The yuppies like Mumford and Sons. It is a screwed up music world. But it's fun too-- Something to laugh at.”

Isis credits Rodney Bingenheimer as a major connection for the band.

“He invited us to Los Angeles when we were in Crete living in an artist commune (The Ikarus) and we sold everything pretty much to come play a show that he and the radio station KROQ put on. He announced us at our very first two shows. We made history the first night when he introduced us at the Roxy Theatre. It was the first time ever that a Greek punk band and actually any "rock" genre band, from Greece that ever played in the US. We also sold it out which was mind blowing. He is a great, great visionary for rock music and we wish he would get even more recognition for how important he has been to the music scene globally. He played (when no other DJ would) the Ramones, Sex Pistols, Blondie, Germs, Nirvana, etc. before anyone else in America--Astounding really.”

We started out as a pop-ish band and became who we are through struggle. We had to find ways to survive in America and somehow we got involved in playing non-stop punk shows. The punk bands influenced us and brought us back to what we wished to be during the time we were in Greece. We always loved punk, but thought maybe we could start off pop-ier and then get harder. When you are playing in front of hundreds of angry punks, you quickly adapt and get harder yourself to survive. We became who we are now through that wonderful process.

We don't "want" to change the world. The word alone, "want" stays in the "future". We ARE changing the world and so are all the other people who do the actions of change towards freedom. The new revolution has started with many occurrences, from Occupy, to the peaceful riots in European cities, to the journalists finding and alerting the media of dirty politician doings. If we don't revolt now, we will become even bigger slaves to the system and there will be no turning back. The time is now and it is on full force. The big men in the corporate controlling world know this, that is why they control the media and force feed you "fear, scarcity, terror, Mumford and sons, Rihanna, fake cheese filling...".

We just released our debut album in New York City this past November. The album was recorded live in the studio with Steve Albini in Chicago. We did it in two nights. Pyn just added a guitar track afterwards then we mixed it. Steve recorded Robert Plant and Jimmy Page of Led Zepellin and that says more than anything because Jimmy (Page) produced every Zep album. So for them to ask Steve to do that job --- wow. Oh, we also have a split 7" single with Keith Morris' new band OFF! coming out soon. He used to sing in Circle Jerks and Black Flag (before Rollins). That's kinda rad you know? Another honor for me. We are also playing shows across the UK soon with punk legends GBH, 999, and The Lurkers. Then will be hitting lots of festivals in Europe. So this is big news for me.

The Dolls are setting the stage for others to follow as Isis says “we wish everyone to inspire themselves like we do.”  And pulling no punches Slit ‘bloody rocks harder than any Mumford and Sons cover band.’
