Big Summer Plans for the Rolling Stones
The Rolling Stones celebrated their 50th anniversary this past year, and show no signs of slowing down anytime soon. The band has announced that they will tour for the first time since 2006-2007. Sources report the tour will consist of 18 North American arena dates beginning May 2nd. Dates have not been announced yet, but would imagine (and hope) our very own Quicken Loans arena is among the scheduled dates.
Even if the Stones do not have a Cleveland date planned at the moment, that doesn’t mean you won’t be able to get your fix of the greatest rock and roll band ever. This spring the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame will debut their newest exhibit of the band. “Rolling Stones: 50 Years of Satisfaction” will open Memorial Day weekend on May 24th.
The exhibit will occupy the top two floors of the building, and will contain personal items provided by the band themselves and private collectors. Guitars, clothing, and an assortment of other Rolling Stones artifacts will be on display for a year. After its yearlong run in the Hall of Fame, the exhibition will hit the road and travel the country as a way of showcasing Cleveland’s own Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
