ROSE RED

Rose Red is a serious band who delivers hard rock and metal from the underground music scene of Rio de Janeiro,  Brazil.  The band who take their name from Stephen King’s  film by the same name bring elements of horror and thrilling sound to form their music which is taking hold in their scene.  With songs such as Destruction and I Kill My Boyfriend you can feel the adrenalin that flows in their music.

Rose Red was formed in 2011 and includes Betina Toldedo on vocals, Julia Alves on bass, Raisa Alves on guitar and Fi Demonizer on drums.  They play original music and are working on recording their songs however, as with most underground bands, the finances does not always allow this to become a reality and they work hard to succeed.  “People may think we have facility to play in any show we want, that we get more chances or the public have preference to see us because we are women. None of this happens. We work very hard to get what we want as any other underground band and our public respects us because of that.”

You will hear plenty of hard rock and metal influences with a punk flavor in Rose Red.” This style emerged unintentionally, said Toldedo. It was by chance. I think, as in any other band, each member puts its personality, culture, experiences and especially their influences from another favorite band.”

Most people might overlook female rock bands when it comes to strength and power that is a standard for male bands, however Red Rose are breaking the mold.  “I don’t know what people think of female bands. But I always thought the female bands were not as good as the male bands. Rock, and especially metal, requires strength, command, and strong people. Women have fragile appearance and sometimes fail to show what metal is based on. Today I believe in the ability of the artist, be it man or woman.”

Rose Red are a band worth hearing and supporting.  They have a solid sound and unique style that makes their music stand out.  They have  recorded their music in English with the hopes of making their music more accessible to the world audience.  You can find their music on Sound Cloud.
