Cleveland Cavaliers 2013
Get ready for the Cleveland Cavaliers in Stage 1 Magazine.  We bring you updates on C-town’s pro BB team that deliver excitement and action direct from the Q.
The Cleveland Cavaliers will make a return to a proven winner and put down odds that it will pay off as Mike Brown returns for his second run as coach of the Cleveland Cavaliers.  Just as fast as Cavs fans considered the possibility of a Phil Jackson triangle offense coming to The Q, the brain trust took action of the best action with the hire of Brown—who owner Dan Gilbert wanted to bring back.  Now the new optimism can begin as Brown builds around Kylie Irving and delivers a defensive minded ideology to the team—one that has proven to work.  With Brown the Cavs went 272-138 and never missed the playoffs.
Of course, one of the key factors with Brown is his relationship with LeBron James and it just so happens that next summer LeBron has the option in free agency next summer to lure him back to Cleveland.

Cavaliers Ready to Contend with Mike Brown Behind the Bench. Again.

Cleveland Cavaliers owner Dan Gilbert acknowledged his own mistake when he fired former coach Mike Brown after he led the team to a league leading 61-21 record before losing in the conference semifinals to the Boston Celtics.  The Cavs have re-hired the former NBA Coach of the Year and defensive specialist to help guide the young team toward the postseason. The Cavaliers are expected to make some noise this offseason and have started already by announcing the return of Brown.

One has to wonder what pieces the team is looking to add in the offseason, with the large amount of salary cap space the team has a number of options to add talent to the roster, not to mention yet another lottery pick, as well as the Los Angeles Lakers first rounder in this year’s NBA Draft.  The Cavs are in desperate need of someone who can play small forward and take some of the scoring pressure away from Kyrie Irving, and Dion Waiters and may look to address this glaring weakness with one of their picks.  The Cavs also possess selections in the second round, so there will be no shortage of fresh faces in the locker room.

Coach Brown, largely regarded as a defensive minded coach will add some discipline to a team who definitely had their share of defensive lapses.  The Cavaliers squandered leads of 20+ points on multiple occasions including losing a 27 point lead to Lebron James and the Miami Heat on March 20th.   Dan Gilbert was quoted during the press conference saying he “would not be surprised if this team is in the playoffs next year”.  The old saying goes, “defense wins championships”, so Mike Brown seems like a perfect fit to hopefully help lead the Cleveland Cavaliers to their first ever  NBA Championship
