Fire Up the Grill—The Barbe Q Barbies light the fire with raw rock and roll

The Barbe Q Barbies are one of those bands that will deliver some excitement when you play their music---its raw rock and roll—dirty, gritty, and tasty!  These girls sound has a solid foundation with influences like AC/DC,  Kiss and Motorhead and keep the beat going with a new release, Breaking All The Rules, which is a must have and reason to tune into what this band is about.  The album was just released in February and is getting great reviews.

“We're 100% pure rock'n'roll band with an irresistible charisma, of course, ha hah! No, seriously, we're 5 women enjoying playing the ''thing'' we love and taking everything out of it and hoping to spread the good spirit of good old rock'n'roll! You can hear the some influences in our music back from the 70's and 80's but we tend to spicy it a bit with our own unique mixes and take it to this date,” says Niina

.

The name came about when Niina was watching a music video by Soundgarden titled Black Hole Sun which featured a little girl grilling Barbie Dolls.

“We're releasing ''Breaking all the rules'' album in February 2013 in Finland and Europe as well so there are lot of expectations. Hopefully the album will sell well and we get to tour all as many countries as possible. It's all about get to play great shows,” said Niina.

The band formed in 2002 and found its lineup by 2007 with Ekkis on guitar, Kaisa on guitar, Niki on vocals and Nina behind the drums.  They released their debut album, Äll Over You in 2010.  They have been warming the stages for the likes of WASP and the New York Dolls.    They play loud hard rock and roll ala AC/DC, Kiss, Runaways and Motorhead.  It is music with attitude and energy—which really will hook you and provide a real rush through your veins as you rock your head to their tasty reverberations.

Barbe Q Barbies will be busy touring in the upcoming months for the new album.  Nina said, it’s made with good spirit.” Minttu added, “Most of the lyrics are not very serious.  It’s more about playing rock and roll and having a good time."
