Get Ready for Coolsville...It's Palmyra Delran

There is something special about the music Delran creates.  You lose track of time and space and melt away and let it flow through you.  Her music is not only an inspiration for women and girl groups everywhere but all musicians to pick up on.  As for Delran, she has enjoyed the ride and is ready to deliver more of her rhythmic gems and keep the cool songs coming.

“It's impossible to pick an absolute favorite because I've been so lucky to have worked with some great people. I was the drummer in a "ensemble” called Pink Slip Daddy that was super fun & always different. The members were Mick Cancer (vocals) & Sal Mineo's Only Son (guitar) both from Philly punk rock band "The Sickidz!” Barb Dwyer on bass, also later Jezebel on bass. Gigs were outrageous, and people still approach me with ridiculous and hilarious stories that I'd forgotten about. The chemistry between us was undeniable. We rarely discussed song structure, but somehow everything fell into place at the same time it was falling apart - in a good way.

I hope that people dig my songs and can relate to them in their own way, maybe have a laugh or a cry.

Be sure to find Palmyra Delran fast as you do not want to miss out on these tasty cuts.

Get ready to be absorbed by the queen of trash pop garage grinding rock and roll that will hook your senses and fill your ears with unstoppable pleasure.  Palmyra Delran is the creative force, songwriter, and founder of the Friggs—the prototype of the all-girl group digging in 20 years ago out of her Philly roots where she grew up listening—and absorbing everything from the Rolling Stones, Monkees and Sly and the Family Stone to the AM radio hits of the day.    She formed the Friggs which gained international success and moved on to her solo releases including her first LP, She Dig’s the Ride in 2008 which Palmyra’s song "Baby Should Have Known Better" was picked by Little Steven as the "Coolest Song in the World" in November '08, then voted "Coolest Song of 2008" by Underground Garage listeners, and featured on the show’s CD compilation, The Coolest Songs in the World Vol. 8, on Wicked Cool Records.  Her songs were included in the movies "Superbad", "Jawbreaker", "Lipstick & Dynamite", and "Prey for Rock & Roll".  Bad Word for a Good Thing was used in a national television commercial for Chevrolet trucks.

"The Friggs had chemistry and a whole lotta fun. Anything was possible with those gals!

I recently did a children's CD with songwriter Rachelle Garniez that was a blast! We got together & wrote a bunch of totally ridiculous and fun songs for kids called "KinderAngst" and released it last June. We've collaborated on other stuff since, including my new CD.”

"I'm now working with a few super talented fellas - Michael Lynch, Mark Brotter, & Richard Devgreene. They also played on my CD & our shows are always a blast!"

A digital single and video “Lies for You” was released in late 2010. Palmyra then toured Scandinavia backed by Swedish band Stupidity, playing shows with Norwegian gals The Cocktail Slippers.

2012 saw the release of punk rock kids CD called KinderAngst, a collaboration with NYC songwriter Rachelle Garniez, and features a special appearance from Debbie Harry. To understand the musical vibe that emanates from Delran, one needs to experience it first hand as the sounds will hook you and leave you thirsting for more.  She mastervfully crafts the kind of music that will shake your soul and move your feet.
